Ketan P. Soni, Managing Attorney
Ketan P. Soni
Ketan (pronounced ka'-than), an avid Chicago Cubs fan, knows what it's like to root for the underdog. He also knows, among other things, what it's like to speak Gujarati, design web sites, practice martial arts and finish a triathlon. And he can talk pretty intelligently about what it all means, thanks to a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Illinois.
Veering toward the practical, he went on to get his J.D. at Wake Forest University Law School, where he was Marshall and social chair of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, and a columnist for the law school newspaper. As clerk for an eminent law professor, he was involved in extensive research on the trial of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, and its implications for international criminal procedure.
He served as Vice Chair of the Technology Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association's Family Law Section where he is currently a member. Ketan is also an active member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and NetIP. As one of the founding members of Tri-Sala, he has also reached out to the network of South Asian attorneys.
Ketan has focused his professional career on the area of family law, and is trained in family and divorce mediation as well as collaborative law. Ketan has served as a volunteer lawyer with 'Ask a Lawyer Day' in Mecklenburg County and teaches divorce seminars monthly in conjunction with United Family Services. Ketan doesn't allow anything to be considered a lost cause - there's that Cubs thing again - and is committed to devoting the time and attention clients need to make positive movement in their lives.
